Tequila myths

Tequila is a Mexican spirit and it is rather popular today. A number of myths are connected with tequila and one of the most wide-spread myths is a myth that concerns the producing of tequila. Most people believe that tequila is produced of the cactus but it is wrong. Tequila has nothing to do with cactuses and is produced of agave. It is a plant native to tropical America, with tall flower stalks rising from a massive, often armed, rosette of thick fleshy leaves: family Agavaceae. Some species are the source of fibres such as sisal or of alcoholic beverages such as pulque and tequila.
Another myth concerns the authenticity of tequila. People say that there should be a worm in tequila in case if the tequila is real. Though, it is also just a myth created by some "genius". That genius was the one among all others who were trick by smart pitchmen. A worm is not common for Mexican tequila but it is common for tequila produced in the USA. It is a trick to impress people and to increase selling. So, as you can see a worm in a bottle is not a sign of authentic tequila but in counter.
It is also common to consider tequila as home-made drink, and it is also a false belief. Tequila is produced by huge companies and there is also a code of laws created in order to control the quality of tequila. Do not think that there is a mustarded Mexican who stays at home making tequila. It is another official spirit like all others. And, you'd better forget about the stories according to which there are psychotropic components in tequila. There is no and was no single psychotropic element.
There are several kinds of tequila and those are wrong who think that all the kinds are just the same. Each kind of tequila is peculiar for its taste and aroma. It is not only the producer that is notable for each kind of tequila but there are also a number of features that make each tequila kind peculiar and different of a number of other kinds. In case if you feel no difference between different kinds of tequila it is your personal drama that can't be recognised as an argument in weight of the fact that there is no difference between tequila kinds.
People also believe that the quality of tequila depends on the price and so they choose the most expensive bottle. But, there is no need to spend a fortune for tequila as there is no connection between the price and quality of tequila. The price depends first of all on the one who sell the tequila; it is his personal choice which price to set. Other factors that influence the prise of tequila are the expense of the process of its producing and the kind of tequila. But, one kind is more expensive than another not because it is better but because it has the greater call.
