Pregnancy myths
The pregnancy period is the most delicate and precious period in the life of every woman. It is nine months they carry their babies in the womb. Those long nine months are the most precious months in the life and usually women miss for these months. And the nine months is a period when a number of pregnancy myths appear. First of all there are myths about detecting a sex of a baby according to the shape of the belly. There are a number of other myths that deal with different foreseeing and so on and so forth.
First of all we should say about the sex-detecting myths. According to this myth the sex of a baby may be detected after the shape and size of the belly. So, according to this myth if the belly is big and round a woman will have a girl. And, if the belly is small and pointed a woman will have a boy. More likely, that this myth was created at the times when there were no possibilities to determine the sex of the baby by means of medical equipment. Some people say that it is not a myth but the rule. Though, doctors say that the form and shape of the bally can't depend on the sex of the baby.
There are people who state that a pregnant woman is not allowed to have a bath. It is another myth based on some superstitions and makes no sense. If you want to have a bath you may have a bath and there is nothing wrong that may happen to your baby. Actually, according to recent researches, a pregnant woman has to receive what ever she wants as it will make her happy and so make the baby happy.
There is a myth according to which a pregnant woman may not touch a cat. People explain it as a mystical sign and there is no strict and reasonable explanation. Though, as you can see, it is only a myth. Though, the doctors say that it is not allowed for a pregnant woman to clean after the cat. But it is a result of bacteria content in the faeces of a cat, and there is no mystical basis for this statement. A woman may stroke a cat and play with cat and no harm will be caused for her or her baby, but she has to be sure that a cat doesn't suffer from some viruses.
It was times when doctors said that it is forbidden for pregnant woman to have a sex, though nowadays it is just a myth. Moreover, the same doctors say that it is necessary to have sex during the days before birth. That will make the process of a birth less painful. The sexologists say that a pregnancy is the best period foe a woman from the point of view of sexual experience. They will never be able to feel everything as sharply as they are able to feel during the pregnancy. So, it is okay to have a sex while you carrying you baby and no harm will be cause neither for you nor for your baby. Sure there are some rules you have to follow in order not to hurt a baby.
Every one knows that behaviour of a woman is changed with the pregnancy. People say it is a result of hormonal changes in the organism of a woman, though it is wrong. Sure, the behaviour of the woman changes during the pregnancy but these are not the hormones that cause the changes. Those are the changes of psychological nature and are based on the psychological worries. A woman worries about her baby and about its state. A woman also worries about the birth and the pain she has to undergo. These feelings are the real reasons for changes in the behaviour and the hormones have nothing to do with it.
